Coding with lua vendetta online4/30/2023 If you have three or more delegates to train, I'll come to you - ((almost)) anywhere in the world. As the language is a niche one, we often travel far and wide to deliver this training - as well as courses in England, Ireland and Scotland I've been as far afield as Switzerland and Mexico to train. Take a look at our range of Lua courses here. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War I and II.The Fairly OddParents: Shadow Showdown.Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption.Rolando 2: Quest for the Golden Orchid.Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords.Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.Staring off very much in the world of computer games, it's now much more widely used - here's a list of products and games that I've found in the last hour or two, merged from multiple lists: Lua's niche is in tailoring products / languages / other software. And we enjoy teaching people about superb products. It's an open source language, and we specialise in open source languages. So why do we choose Lua to teach? It's a niche language, and we specialise in niche languages. "The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers world-wide, courses and third party vendors" they tell us. Lua is - according to Tiobe Software - the 33rd most popular language. Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk. We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. For 2023 - we are now fully retired from IT training.

Notability app4/30/2023 Trying to drag notes from one folder to another is incredibly frustrating - difficult to accomplish and takes a ton of time to get it to work. When it isn’t crashing it’s nearly impossible to use. However, the latest release of Notability for Mac is a disaster. Except for a (very) slight delay sometimes between my Mac and my ipad, everything was seamless. I can review documents - mark them up - and then send the notes directly back to my team. Being able to upload PPT and PDF decks for meetings and then take notes on my ipad has been a game changer for productivity. I’ve been using Notability for the past few years and love it. Audacity portable4/30/2023 Explain how that makes anything easier than just providing a zip file for downloading? Not everyone is as stupid as the first reviewer who couldn't get the software to work you know. By taking this class you will be able to use Audacity foraudio editing, recording, reducing noise, improving your voiceoversand many more. It's not that difficult. One Million Stars,Ĭons: The only con I can see is this Free download with Softonic Downloader Nonsense. If you don't like this software - chances are you're not doing it right and you might not be ready for something this powerful anyway. You may have to download the encoder separately and place it in the right folder - unless that downloader they are pushing does that for you. It's been a while since I've actually downloaded it - but once you have it set up you just take the whole folder structure with you - and run the executable. That was being nice. How can you not love this software? If you need an icon to double click then make a shortcut to the executeable. Follow the instructions! You just run the executable, dummy. Wow, someone can't get the software to work so they trash the product? Great Software - I've actually used it for several years now!. Open the speech file and music file out together, edit the sound levels then merge together. Recording a speech and then adding background music is really logical, for example. You can also use Audacity to record live from whatever input you choose, and it's really easy to edit and play around with your results. You can also use it to add fade ins and outs, cut them out altogether and add a variety of interesting effects. Edit your sounds using cut, copy, and paste features (with unlimited undo functionality), mix tracks, or apply effects to your recordings. Audacity can record and play sounds and import and export WAV, AIFF, MP3, and OGG files. With Audacity, you can tweak the volume of the track so it's at a similar level to the rest of your library however loud it is. Audacity Portable is an open-source, cross-platform audio editor and recorder. You can even use the tool to edit audio files, mix multiple tracks, apply effects to sound recordings, and do a lot more to create all kinds of music. The feature-packed software is open-source and free to use. You can alter the base volume of tracks in iTunes, but the actual file is not affected, and the end result is many files that play at different volumes. Audacity is a powerful audio editor to play, import, export, and record a wide range of file formats, including WAV, AIFF, and MP3. One basic useful tool for this is making tracks louder or quieter. Lemonade stand games fun4/30/2023 Cups, for example, will never go bad (so you should always have them on hand), while ice will melt at the end of the day, and lemons and sugar are subject to bugs and spoilage. Putting more ice in the pitcher means you can serve more cups, although of course customers may complain about your ?diluted lemonade? ) And to add to complication, different inventory items have different lifespans. A little math is required here, since the number of cups a pitcher can serve depends on how much ice you put in. Before you can sell anything, you need to build up inventory: decide how many paper cups, ice, sugar, and lemons to buy. What makes the game challenging is that you have upfront costs to consider ? costs that won?t be recovered unless your pricing is correct and your forecast of demand is reasonable. when it is sunny and hot, people would be willing to pay a higher price for a glass of lemonade). You'll also have to deal with the weather, which affects your business (e.g. You'll be in charge of every facet of the business, including pricing, quality control, inventory control, and purchasing supplies. For anyone too young to remember the Apple II or never sold lemonade in real life, the goal is simple: make as much money as you can within 30 days by selling lemonade. Although the official PC version was never made, the game continues to inspire countless clones and, in today?s Internet age, many online variants. The game itself is based on a common real-life part-time job many kids do (although probably not anymore). Lemonade Stand is a faithful PC remake (coded in BASIC!) of a classic game of economics that pioneered the genre of business sims when Apple first included it for free with its first computers - way back in late 1970s. Sidekick celphone4/30/2023 The RAZR has even made a comeback-a new “foldable” model with a bendable touchscreen within a clamshell (or flip phone) design was recently released. “What started as innovation grew into a cultural icon and transformed technology into fashion for the first time ever,” says Pierce. “As a result, some of RAZR’s most iconic design features-ultrathin backlit keypad, distinguished chin, metallic finish-came to life by truly innovating around a sleek design.” The brand then started offering the phone in multiple colors, making it a fashion accessory, and eventually going on to partner with Dolce & Gabanna on a limited edition model. This focus on thinness caused us to cut the device’s thickness in half and entirely rethink how to design and architect a phone,” says Paul Pierce, executive director at Motorola Mobility, who was part of the original RAZR team. “In 2003, Motorola set out with a goal of making a device that could easily fit into your pocket. Perhaps the first cell phone to go “viral,” if you will, was the Motorola RAZR, which hit the market in 2004. And despite smartphones being as popular as they are today, there’s even a nostalgic trend to return to the flip or slider phones of the early 2000s. Samsung redesigned the new Sidekick 4G with our best-in-class hardware, combined with T-Mobile's 4G network speeds, the Android operating system, and unique messaging and entertainment features, to make this a perfect match for both loyal Sidekick fans and new Sidekick owners. In the first decade of the new millennium, cell phones hit the mainstream for the first time, and numerous companies battled to create the next must-have accessory. Screens for mac alternative4/29/2023 Dell Ultrasharp U2723QEĪ very new monitor, the Ultrasharp U2723QE has yet to cross my desk, however, Dell Ultrasharp monitors have rarely disappointed in the past and the U2723QE’s feature set is outstanding for $800 and can often be found for as little as $625. You’ll also find four additional USB-A ports, making the monitor a useful USB hub when you connect via USB-C. It provides 65 watts of power delivery and DisplayPort Alternate Mode, so you can connect and charge some laptops. The Asus’ key advantage over the PD2700U is the USB-C port. That’s too bad, but a wide color gamut is elusive if you want to spend $500 or less. The PA279CV again offers 100% of sRGB and Rec.709 but promises nothing for DCI-P3 or AdobeRGB. The monitor’s contrast ratio hovers a tad above 1,000:1 and its brightness, like the BenQ, reaches a height of about 350 nits.Ĭolor gamut is again worth note. Color accuracy is calibrated from the factory and a wide range of image quality options will help you tune the picture to your liking. Image quality is similar to the BenQ PD2700U overall. Thunderbolt 3 is also removed at this lower the price. The stand has the same ergonomic adjustments as this monitor’s more expensive sibling but the puck controller is absent. Maximum brightness is a bit lower at 350 nits, though HDR is still supported (although it can be argued HDR cannot be HDR without at least 400 nits of brightness). It has 4K resolution and is essentially identical in color accuracy and contrast. The PD2700U is extremely similar to the PD2725U. If you’re on a budget, BenQ’s PD2700U is a great alternative to the PD2725U. HDR: HDR supported, not VESA certified.Around the back, you’ll find Thunderbolt 3 with up to 65 watts of power delivery, plus two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort. The monitor has a versatile stand that adjusts for height, swivel, tilt, and can pivot 90 degrees for use in portrait mode. Brightness is also so-so at a maximum of 400 nits. It has a decent contrast ratio for the category, but it’s not amazing. This, like the Apple Studio Display, is a mundane IPS monitor with an edge-lit backlight. Calibration is helped by a wired puck controller that acts like a remote, letting you make adjustments without awkwardly leaning in to use the buttons on the display. The PD2725U can also handle 95% of DCI-P3 plus loads of gamma, color temperature, and color calibration options to tune the screen as you need. I’ve tested several BenQ DesignVue monitors over the last few years and found each had an average color error below 1.5 (as tested with a SpyderX Elite). BenQ’s PD2725U delivers 4K resolution, excellent color accuracy, and a wide color gamut at an obtainable price. Just buy the BenQ PD2725U, which typically retails for $950.īenQ’s DesignVue monitors are always my go-to recommendation for anyone who is serious about image quality. Want to buy a monitor for photography and don’t want to waste time on your search? Awesome.
